Talking Points for Letters to the Editor

•    Meeting the challenge of climate change is the right thing to do. We have a moral obligation to our children and grandchildren to protect and care for our planet. It’s the responsible way to make sure we’re proud of the legacy we leave.

•    Action on climate change/global warming is needed now; state action necessary in vacuum of federal leadership

•    Washington can and should be a leader in reducing global warming pollution. To be a leader we need to take significant action starting now.

•    Thank the Governor for her actions thus far and encourage her to continue to make sure Washington is taking the lead in combating climate change.

•    This is a solvable problem if we make changes now – every year we delay makes the problem that much larger.

•    By taking action now and setting clear limits on our global warming pollution, we can spur investments in a clean energy and help create thousands of good, green jobs for the people of Washington.

•    To achieve the State’s goal of significantly reducing global warming pollution, responsible, local planning decisions must be made so we can reduce driving and promote efficient, livable communities. With half of this pollution coming from transportation sources, we can make big gains, with one change.
